Today, I'm thankful. Thankful for all the progresses I see ahead for Naylah. Equipments made to fit her just right. For her therapists for being such an amazing team. Naylah received a special walker about a week ago, and you wouldn't believe the progresses made in just one tiny week.
You guys I am not even kidding, its U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E!
Oh , my darling you are about to enjoy the true freedom, walking, running and putting me in so much trouble!
Not going to lie. Seeing them put the walker together kind of broke my heart a little. As often as I said it, Never would of imagine that she would need a walker specially made for her. Seeing it, just made me once again remember , what I forget so often, that she needs special things to make her do big things. That things don't come to her as easily as it does to the other kiddos. Putting her on it, the first time was a total fail. Big big tears. Something new, something she never saw before. She doesn't like changes, she likes her safe zone and do thing she knows she can do. Don't we all? So this was a new challenge for her, for us.
It is, what's best for her. No doubt on that. Second day, she was almost a natural. A perfect match. I had almost forgotten all about the little heart break seeing her in her kayewalker just the day before in big tears and wishing she didn't have to need all that to walk. It is just what she needed.
The third day, she stood on her own for a few seconds. All ALONE and clapping her hands. She knew, she accomplished something BIG and oh my, she was so proud of herself. She made sure that aunt jordyn and I clapped for her. She knew we were proud. Come on, 3 little days. It's almost unbelievable.
Now, no complaints on putting her on the walker. She knows it's making her achieve something amazing. She will soon be up and running behind her buddies. It's coming sooner than I thought and we can not wait.
She thought me something. Never give up. Because when you think you ran out of options, she shows me right away, she is about to do big things, and big things happen out of nowhere. We are all proud of what our children accomplish, but when things are a little harder the pride is so much bigger. The strength this girl have, amazes me. She makes me so proud to be her parent. To see her do things. See her grow and show me she wants to do so. I'm thankful for specialized equipments, even if it broke my heart at first. Its making her accomplish something totally awesome, earn her freedom and She will be soon up and running!
